
Igniting Passion
Audrey Worrell is the Director of Bands at Clark-Moores Middle School in Richmond, KY. All three grade levels consistently earn distinguished ratings at KMEA band assessment events and Music in the Parks events. A number of CMMS students are consistently selected for the District 11 Honor Band, All-State Band, and various other honor bands.
She is an assistant director at Madison Central High School, where they are consistently marching band state finalists, and were selected to participate in the 2019 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. She also leads a clarinet choir there and teaches private lessons. Prior to that, she was the director of bands at Estill County Middle School. While there, bands consistently earned distinguished ratings and several Music in the Parks accolades. She was also the assistant director of bands at Estill County High School, where they won back-to-back Class AA state marching band championships during that time.
In 2016, Audrey was awarded the Campbellsville University “Excellence in Teaching Award.” She was also awarded the Estill County Schools “Teachers Who Make A Difference” Award in 2016 and 2017. At the Kentucky Music Educators State conference she was named the Phi Beta Mu “Outstanding Young Band Director” of 2017. She was named the 2022-23 District 11 Middle School Teacher of the Year.
Audrey has served as a guest clinician for numerous honor bands across the state in recent years and conducted the last three seasons of Foster Music Camp at EKU. Under her direction, the CMMS Band has been a recipient of The Steele-Reese Foundation Grant, The Mr. Hollands Opus Grant as well as a four-time recipient the Peter R. Marsh Grant. She is part of the KEDC Renaissance Grant of educators, is a member of KMEA, a member of the American School Band Directors Association, and Phi Beta Mu International Bandmasters Fraternity.
She an alumna of Morehead State University where she earned her degree in music education. She also holds a master’s degree in Instructional Leadership from EKU. She is an active musician, regularly performing on clarinet with the Madison Community Band and the Sacred Winds Ensemble. Audrey currently resides in Richmond, KY, with her husband, Evan, and dog, Dixie.
