Fundraising
Support the Madison Central Band
The Madison Central Band is powered by the dedication of our students—and the incredible support of our community. Throughout the year, we offer several fundraising opportunities to help keep our program strong, our equipment top-notch, and our experiences unforgettable.
We do not ask students to sell candles, cookie dough, or discount cards. These types of fundraisers are time-consuming, inconvenient, and distract from what our students should be focused on—making music and building community.
Fundraisers

Our largest and most consistent fundraiser comes from working concessions at Eastern Kentucky University’s home football and basketball games. These events allow us to earn money while showing school spirit and working as a team.

The first Friday and Saturday in May, we load a bus and head to Louisville to work the Kentucky Oaks and Derby as food runners. It’s a long, high-energy weekend—but an incredible opportunity to raise funds while being part of Kentucky’s biggest traditions.

Band on the Run 5K is one of our most exciting annual fundraisers—bringing together students, families, and the community for a fun, fitness-focused event that supports the Madison Central Band. Run, walk, or cheer from the sidelines!
Dining for Dollars
We partner with local restaurants throughout the year for Dining for Dollars nights, where a portion of the evening’s proceeds are donated to our band. It’s an easy and delicious way to support the program.

Your Employer
Check your employer’s policies! Many offer ways to give to non-profit’s that are meaningful to you. Consult with your benefit guide and HR reps! Some potential ways employers give back:
- Payroll Giving / Payroll Deductions
- Employees can elect to have a recurring, small amount deducted directly from their paycheck and automatically donated to a chosen charity.
- Gift Matching
- A corporate giving program where a company financially matches the charitable contributions made by its employees to eligible non-profit organizations.
- Employee-Led Grant Programs / Community Grants
- Employees can nominate charities for grants from the company’s philanthropic fund.
- Volunteer Time Off (VTO)
- Employees are given a set number of paid hours or days each year to volunteer for any registered non-profit of their choice. Come help us at Band Camp or volunteer at our Derby event!
